I was talking about the kids names yesterday and their birthdays . Today back to their names, my oldest is Taylor Evelyn I used my aunt Evie's name for her middle name.
The second is Tori Elizabeth I used a friend of mine's middle name ,she was always like the mother I never had.
Tanner's middle name is a "E" name too but we won't say it, it's his father's name and it's awful. Anyone that would name their baby that for his first name must not like her kids,that's what I always felt about his mother.
Tanner has told me he too hates it and he does ask to change his name all the time,infact he always wants to change his last name too. He says the girls can get married but I'm stuck with it,I told him if he really wants to change his last name to my new one because he loves his step dad then ok but I know his father will not ever allow it. So once he's 18 he can if he wants to and my husband said sure you can if you want,I consider you my son too.
We even have his new middle name picked out Tanner Colton ...... I like it alot !
So if he wants to when he's 18 then my hubby and I will stand behind him and his real father can go straight to Hell where he belongs!
The baby as most of you know is Brody ,but I don't know if I ever said his middle name. So here it is Brody Cannon..... ! We had his first name picked out right from the start but couldn't decide on a middle one. I liked Cannon but never told my husband because I thought he would think I was nuts,I have only ever heard it used once about 5 years ago some woman behind the scenes on the view was pregnant and one day the women were talking about names and Joy said I like the name whoever has picked and the camera went to her sitting over in the corner and she said the name and said it was an old family name or something,that was the only time I ever heard it used.
So one night in Nov I'm comming down the hall towards the livingroom and my husband says from in there what about Cannon. I walked in the room and said where did you get that? He says he was just flipping through the channels and some young bull rider was on there and they just happened to say the name when he was about to flip and the guy's name was Cannon.
So I said sure I love it, he said really you do ? I said yep and here's the thing ( I say that alot ) I have liked that name for along time but figured you wouldn't like it. The reason I like it though is because back when the boats were comming from England to the States and Canada my great great great ..........grandfather was asked his name when he got off and it was Cannon but the person writting it down wrote Canning as the last name ,so my grandfather's last name was Canning but when some people were going through the family tree stuff online and in books the mistake was caught and because I'm a dork and have done my family back as far as the 1600's I got an email from some guy I don't know telling me he was related and he had found it, I have known this for about 12 years. I do not talk to anyone related to me anymore so I never told them what I learned.
I do know though that in England in some town there is a statue of a Lord Cannon and he really is related to me!
So I'm sure someone told my mother that I had a baby and what his name is, but she really wouldn't know that the Cannon is after her father's family. My grandfather died when I was 16 so he never knew this ,and he never met any of my kids. I loved him more then anyone else in my family so I always wanted to use that name.
After I told my husband about the name thing we just knew without a doubt that Cannon was going to be Brody's middle name.
However he also jokes that Brody will play football and he will have an arm like a cannon and when everyone talks about how good he throws they can call him The Cannon and it really will be his name! I just let that dream carry on in his head !
Now back to the Evelyn I know that Crabtree and Evelyn everyone says it like eve. I even seen someone call their new baby Evie not long ago and they said it like thatbut with the eee sound on the end. However I grew up with my aunts name and it was always Evie but it sounds like evv with the ee sound. So Taylor's name is Evelyn with the softer evv sound and I think it's prettier then the way I hear people in the states say it.
Does that make sense or is everyone sooo not getting it, and I sound like a rambling fool ! Then again when don't I sound like that?
