Who Is That In The Crib ?

I took these pictures a couple months ago. I didn't notice he was making a face when I was snapping away, but then when I went to look at them on here.......I seen that face! I wasn't going to post it ,because I only wanted cute pictures and thought once he's older he really won't like it if I put bad pictures of him on here. Then I thought wth I'm going to tell you all the funny things he says ,once he ever starts talking anyways ,I might as well put his crazy looking pics on here too! Since I don't always post things that are all sunshine and rainbows and flowers ,infact somethings are grouchy and cranky and not happy at all !

That's what real life is ! It's not always cute and pretty and if yours is ,I don't know what world you live in ! So here is a picture of my cute little man making some kind of weird crazy face! Maybe he's trying to look like Elvis, which makes me laugh but I won't tell the hubby I think that since he doesn't like him . I don't get that at all ...what's not to like?

I have liked him since I was very young, and I had a friend in school who was nuts for him ! She died when she was 15 from failing kidneys, her mom had given her one the year before but she ended up getting sick again and nothing could be done. I still remember that at 2:00 in the afternoon they pulled her plug, I cried all the way home and for what seemed like weeks after her funeral ,where the church was packed and people were standing outside on the steps. They also played Love Me Tender by Elvis because she loved him.

Ok that was weird ! I was posting about my son's crazy looking picture, and it turned into talking about something that happend when I was a kid ! Sorry I turned it into something so sad!

Onto the pictures again, I just thought it was funny when I seen it and thought I'd share. So I'm going to stop rambling on and on about nothing ! I hope you all have a good day !

Feeding The Turtles !

A couple weeks ago when we went to the aquarium, the kids wanted to feed the turtles. My dh put the food in the clips for them, I just watched and took pictures. They seen alot of cool things, but I could only get pictures of a few since it was so dark in there. I tried to get pictures of the sharks swimming all around us and over our heads ,but it was too dark and all the other moms that were trying weren't having much luck either with their nice cameras.

If you have never been to the Aquarium in Tulsa you should go, we have been there twice and liked it both times. I missed The Closer last night, because the kids were fighting through the first half and I couldn't hear it and then my hubby got home from getting a few things for me to cook with and there was like 10 minutes left ...so what's the point. We were going to watch it when it came on again at 11 , but went to bed instead...........because we are old ! hahaha

So when you bring your kids or just your husband, what is your favorite thing to see or do at the aquarium?

Shark Week !

I hope everyone had a nice weekend ! We didn't do much , my dh worked like always on sat morning then later we took the kids to Little House . On sun the boys went golfing then later on my hubby took the kids swimming over at the water park. I got the baby to sleep and was going to sleep too,but of course not I get a call from the lady that was going to be taking our family pictures sat morning telling me she can't come now because her 7 year old kid has some dance thing on friday night. On sunday she is doing pictures for some other baby.

So I guess poor Brody is screwed ! She couldn't come at the last minute to do his 3 month ones and now ,not the 6 month ones either ! I planned on having him done 3'6'9'12 and putting them all in this really nice frame I got for christmas. My mil was going to do that too, I guess she's not allowed to have her son's first baby on her wall like that though.

The lady ( I was being nice, I have other names for her ) is his sister , so I guess only her two kids are to be up in the grandparnets house ! I'm just a tad bit ...PISSED !

Other then that though it was nice yesterday, the kids came back from swimming and we went to the mil's for supper. Came home got the baby to sleep and watched Ice Road Truckers and Army Wives like every sunday. Shark Week also started last night so that will be on here all day everyday all week now ,since my son loves them and that's how it went last time too!

Well I have lots of work to do. I just thought I'd add the only way I like sharks is on the bbq ! Shark steaks are really good done with a lemon type butter spread. Does anyone else have a kid that wants to watch Shark Week ?

I'm Cool !

The man fixed it around 2 , it was about 5 before it was nice and cool in here again. I made this last week, I love strawberries . When I make my strawberry shortcake I use angelfood cake and I put coolwhip on top of it then I cut up strawberries all over then I top it with the chocolate turtle icecream topping stuff . The kids love it ! If I'm using fresh biscuits then I would use berries I had cut up before and have had sitting in the fridge with a little sugar and their juices. That way the juice soaks in to the biscuit some .

Now I need to do all the house work I put off for two days because it was so hot in here! Since I never see or talk to anyone ever other then the comments on here , tell me if you love strawberries and how you like them. I'll keep checking in between the laundry and other boring crap I need to do. Like always it will be the highlight of my day, having adults talk to me instead of just listening to kids fight and yap and yell !

I Bet I'm Hotter Then You !

Yesterday at around 10:30 I was sitting here and all of a sudden ,I could smell something burning. I sat here for another minute and thought well maybe it's just me ,but then my oldest said I smell something weird. I could tell by how it smelled that it was some kind of electrical fire. So then I'm running around like a crazy woman trying to see something. The smell was all through the house by then and my son had come up the hall and said someone must be shooting caps outside I smell it.

By then I'm starting to freak out ! I have all four kids home and the baby is sleeping, so I run around more and outside too. I have found I smell it worse in the room close to my washer and dryer and in the other closet is the furnace and air.

I called my hubby to come home and he looks around can't find anything,he even gets up in the attic to see if anything is going on up there. That's when we realize it's warm in here. He looks at the air conditioner and can't see anything but it smelled worse close to it. He says go click it down , I do and sure enough it doesn't come on.

The motor or something in it has burnt out, great ! He calls and gets no answer and leaves a message and goes back to work ( where he has air in his office) . I wait all day for someone to call, I make sure all the blinds are closed and don't let the kids run in and out. He calls them again around 4 to see if they are comming or when ,still no answer!

It's around 83 in my house and it's 97 outside but with the humidity it says on my weather thing 104 whoo hoo ! My kids have been fighting all day, now the baby is starting to get upset too !
He loves his bottle and has never ever been cranky while sucking that down well now he's taking a drink and then crying and drinking and crying.

My dh comes home and is holding him, when his mom happens to call and wants to plan taking the baby for the weekend so we can do something fun with the older kids. That is very nice of her ,but instead of being friendly I'm very short and cranky she said what's going on ? I tell her the kids and I have been roasting all day ! She says well bring them over here for the night,whoo hoo !

The kids don't want to stay at her house, but I take my baby so he's cool and not cranky and over heated and she will be dropping him off before she goes to work. We get a big fan from her and a friend of my husband drops off a great big one. The kids all sleep in one room so they can feel the fan I have blowing on them and we put the smaller in our room.

I'm up it's early I'm hot and cranky and I hope that the guy gets his cool comfortable butt over to my house first thing this morning!

Why Is It Always Sideways?

I need to learn to never be thrilled or happy ,when he sleeps through the night ! I told you guys a week or so ago that he slept through the night. Well he hasn't at all since and has been up twice a night every night , like before. I did manage to get him sleeping (when he does) in his bed instead of his swing, so that's good at least. I feel like the walking dead, since I'm the one that has been awake every night of my life since feb. I had a little break for about 3 weeks where he slept through all night, but that stopped and it's been party time every night since!

He isn't cranky really he wakes, eats and then either goes back to sleep or he wants to play. Well at least now he does it in his bed and I don't have to bring him out here to play with his toys!

I don't know what is going on with me , but I have been having all those weird crazy dreams that are like the ones you have when you are pregnant! I have also been wanting to eat a bowl of cereal at 2 or 3 in the morning like I do most nights when pregnant. I'm not ! So what is up with that and why does the boy always lay sideways in his bed ?

Boring Sunday !

The hubby took Tanner golfing. I have wash going and the dishwasher unloaded and the baby asleep. The girls are fighting ,what's new! I'm going to make pizza for supper and Tanner wants to mow the lawn when they come home . So My dh said he would help him and watch that he doesn't do anything bad with it,like run over my flowers or anything else that might be in his path.

We went and got Sonic for breakfast for the kids and I got a Mocha Java Chiller ...yum ! They are so good,I also got a chicken sandwhich and I always get them to add bacon and cheese . The kids had normal breakfast stuff like they should.

My dh went to work yesterday at 7:30 and didn't get home until 4:30 and then he had a test to do for his college stuff so he went back to the office to write it ,since here is like a zoo and he couldn't think with all the yelling those girls do! He got home at 10:30 ! I guess I won't be seeing him very much this weekend.

While he was gone I watched The Bank Job ,it was ok and it is based on a true story and I always like those. Tonight is Ice Road Truckers and Army Wives , we must be the most boring people on earth !

Starbucks Who?

Starbucks is closing 600 stores.....Who Cares ! I feel bad for the people that work in those stores as they will have to find new jobs, but I could careless about the store itself closing! I think they are way to over priced for the crap they sell! I know alot of people love it and think it's soo great and can't go a day without it ,but I think it's mostly because that's either all they have ever had or anything else they tried was something that is known for worse stuff anyway!

I know most have you have never been to Canada ,but I have to say Tim Hortons is really really good. They have all the drink stuff, but not the big prices plus they have tons of donuts and muffins and cookies and soup and breadbowls and freshmade sandwiches and even bagels and breakfast things! I love them and ever since I moved here I can never get it ,yes there are stores in the US but not any near where I'm stuck. My friend from back home sent me a can of their French Vanilla Cappuccino and I was in heaven every morning until the can was gone.

They also pay for a lot of little league teams in hockey,ball and soccer and they have a great contest every year with awesome prizes and a day a year where they sell their big cookies and then donate all the money made to local sick kids and things.

Since I'm usually always fair or at least I always try to be , I have a problem with them too!

They have an online site where you can go look at all their stuff but, they don't have a damn store so you can order online. If they can put a store in Afghanistan for the troops why the hell can't they have an online store for people who buy on line or are like me and live far away but still want to buy it!

I was going to rant about a couple other things today too,but I'll save it for another day! So I'll just say a few of my favorite things from there .

Oh the bar up there is also one of my favorite things that you can not buy here so I get her to send me those too!

Something is screwed up with my blog, I have spaced this out 6 times and then when I go to post it it's all cramed together, sorry ! The baby is crying and I can't fool with it anymore!

Now this is what I was going to write about today before I learned of my award. A few weeks ago I entered to win a quilt. The Boy Slept In His Bed !

We took the older kids to the Aquarium yesterday and then out to eat, they picked TGI Fridays . Then the girls wanted to go to the mall,boy was that fun.....NOT! All those girls did was fight about everything! Tori would look at something and then Taylor would say she liked it too ,and it was the end of the world to Tori! I guess from now on I will only take them alone without the other because ,I'm not listening to that anymore.!

I could see it if they were in the same class ,but they aren't even in the same school! It's like the world is comming to an end if one likes the same thing and color the other likes! Meanwhile poor Tanner had to walk around with two hateful girls and a very cranky mom , who had blisters on the top of both feet from her sandals ,because she still hasn't lost her weight!

They had lots of fun looking at all the fish and sharks and things and shopping in the gift shop. Dinner was great too for them, but I didn't even eat mine so 75 bucks for lunch and I didn't even eat, I'm sure that added to my bad mood in the mall before all the fighting started! I got them two new tops each to wear in August when I get their pictures done with the baby for his 6 month ones. We get home and I find out ( after Tori rips the tags off hers) that they both had smalls for the top one instead of mediums so they are too tight but the tanks for underneath fit.

I go over to my mil's to pick up the baby and she said, he was really good, other then when he woke up and cried as soon as he seen her! We dropped him off in the morning and when we did he was fine until she went to take him and he got scared of her and didn't want to go, but she was wearing a hat as soon as she took it off he was fine. So I didn't think he would have acted scared of her again later after spending all day with her.

I brought him home and he had a couple bottles and went to bed.....In His Bed ! He slept there all night too, he woke up around 12 had a bottle and went back to sleep ...In His Bed ! Do you know how happy I was that he slept in his own room until 6:00! Well I have laundry to go hang out, hope everyone had a nice weekend!

5 Months !

Brody is 5 months today!

Boys!

I have seen other moms say this too,so it's nothing new! It is so hard to get kids to sit still for pictures ,even when it's them that ask you to take it!

Teen Girls !

Today I'm making bacon wrapped scallops and broccoli salad for supper,they are both so good!

Well that is I'm making that for supper if ,the girls will be willing to help with the baby some. I want to be allowed to have a shower too ,I know this is asking alot from them!


It's hard to be a teen girl in my home and be on the phone and on the computer and tv all day long. I'm on it early when everyone but the baby is still asleep and for a little bit once I get him back to sleep,I'm never on the phone and I never watch tv in the day other then GH. I spend my day cleaning and doing laundry and breaking up fights between those two girls and getting the boy some time on phone,tv,computer inbetween them. Let's not forget feeding them and looking after the baby.



I just don't get kids today, when I was 12 or so I would go babysit for a lady that had 5 kids from a 7 year old down to a newborn and I loved it! I always did everything other then feed the baby. Every time she woke up I would get her,not because her mom asked but because I wanted to help. Well that does not happen here! If their little brother cries and I have the nerve to ask one of them to go get him for me because, I'm putting clothes in the wash or dishes in the dishwasher or cooking their food, it's done but not without loud sighs and eyerolling! Then he's carried to wherever I am and paced back and forth until I take him,and it's just the end of the world if I ask them to give him a bottle while I finish whatever I'm doing and I even make it and bring it to them on the couch,it's not like I ask them to make it.



Then yesterday the little fella was eating breakfast and my oldest was holding the baby on the loveseat for a minute so I could pee. I come out and Tanner is in the livingroom sitting on the loveseat kicking the hell out of his sister and hitting her like a wild man while she was holding my baby! Let's just say they haven't seen me that mad in a very long time and he went and sat all on his own in the bedroom for about three hours without being told. When I asked what was going on Taylor said she had changed the channel from what he was watching.



Now if I had of acted like that when I was a kid I would have got a damn good beating,but most kids today have never gotten one because it's frowned upon or flat out not allowed! Maybe that's why kids today seem to be so much worse then kids use to be. Now for the most part my kids are very good, they never get in trouble at school and thank goodness have never got in trouble from the police, but still I find they fight with each other way more then I ever would have dared when I was a kid.



I just find it odd how the girls seem to act with the baby mostly,compared to how I was at their age with kids and babies. Now that lady I use to babysit for has 11 kids and her second grandbaby on the way. I ended up becomming very close friends with her and have stayed friends all these years ,and her older girls the ones I use to watch acted the same way as mine do now!



There is really no point to this post ,I'm sorry if you found it boring . I was just rambling on since ,when I say it here all I get are sighs and rolling eyes and ...I know mom you told me all this before! Least here I can say things and I have lots of other moms who get it and if they don't and are sitting there rolling their eyes because this is so boring...I don't have to see it!



I know I'm not alone . Sometimes it's just nice to vent and to have someone say I know what you mean ,instead of looking at you like you have two heads and are crazy! Thank you for your time and have a nice day free of eye rolling teen girls!

Play Is So Much Better Then Sleep !

Whenever I get in my crib , I like to play! I hardly ever sleep ! Good thing I'm so cute !

If this is silly ,that's because my mom has been up for two hours already and it's only 4:54am!

A Girl and Two Bears !

When we went to the park the other day ,the bears were out. I have been there lots and only ever seen one and it was always high up in the rocks. The other day there was one right down by the cage just a few feet from us . We were watching it and all of a sudden there was another comming down from the rocks, I never even knew they had two.

I took a couple pictures of Tori sitting there, and some of the bear too ! They have a great Monkey Island and for some reason I didn't take any pictures of that. Sometime I will and tell you about it ,it's pretty cool who they are that lived there.

Well my house work is not getting done with me sitting here, and my baby is yelling his dislike for being in his crib. Hope everyone has a nice day !

Random Stuff !

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. We just stayed around home,the kids didn't even go swimming! They were asked all three days and decided they didn't want to go,I don't get it since it was really hot out but whatever.

Tanner went golfing for the first time yesterday, and he come home loving it ! Now he wants to go every weekend. Today I need to do another mountian of laundry, and I'm making strawberry shortcake and I'm not sure yet about what supper will be.

Taylor and I didn't get to watch any of our movie yesterday but we will today. I love all the old dresses. My husband says all the time ...I know you say you would like to live back then but...you would never be able to keep your mouth shut and listen to your husband and never have a thought of your own like was expected from the women in the south back then. I told him well once women got married ,they did speak up more. Not most but some and I would have been one of the two or three in my town to do it! It was the unmarried ones looking for a husband that really needed to be good.

I wish my baby would start sleeping againlike he use to! He was up last night at 11:30for a bottle then again at 3:00 he woke up ,to play this time! I got him back to sleep around 5:45! I feel like the walking dead but my head hurts all the time instead of just not feeling anything!

Taylor played fetch with Wilkie the other day ,so I snapped a couple pictures. Well I need to start the laundry and my boy is yelling for a bottle! Hope everyone has a great day!

What Is The Name Of This ?

I thought that these were going to be normal daylillies when they bloomed. They are not ! With the double bloom thing,I'm not sure what their name is. I thought they were even prettier though, so I snapped a few pictures. I thought maybe one of you would know the name ,so when I ever move I'll know what to buy to have them there too!

The dh is taking two of them golfing this morning, so my oldest is going to watch more of of the North and South with me , we watched it the whole time he was golfing yesterday too! Yes ,I'm a dork and have seen it a bunch of times but I like it !

Work ! Work! Work !

My dh was doing school work until 11:50 last night ,the baby woke up at 11:56! The hubby walked in the room and said I'm still awake I'll do it. He got in bed at 1:16 and I was up with the baby at 5:00, I just don't get how he can stay awake so much !

Anyways.... what is it that you and your family do for the 4th of July ? My husband works ! We can see the big fireworks from our yard so we don't have to leave ,which will be good this year since the baby would be sleeping by then anyways. Since he has to work and will be busy all weekend with it,we won't be going anywhere. The kids can go swimming at the pool on Sat and Sun, and I think the dh is going to take which ever ones want to go with him Sun golfing.

So while we are home having the same boring time as always ,what will you be doing?

Here One Day....Gone the Next !

I love this plant when it's all in bloom ! My mil got me it and I went and bought a stand to put it up on since the plant hangs down,but it is not very hardy ! I had it in the corner of the porch where the wind can't really get it and within two days there were no blooms left on it. It's been two weeks and I don't think it's getting anymore. So if you see this in the store and think it's pretty, don't bother buying it since it doesn't last and to me makes it not worth it!

Happy Canada Day !

It's Canada Day back home and since I have found most people in the States know nothing about Canada. I thought I would share some pictures from home !

Home for me being Nova Scotia ! Nova Scotia is the birth place of hockey and the old picture up there is the team from my home town winning the provincial cup in 1905.

The blueberry capital of Canada is Oxford ,which is where I went to school !

The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever was developed in NS in the early 19th century to toll and retrieve waterfowl. My aunt and uncle had one for 15 years his name was Tugboat and he was a great dog!

The statue is of the maid Evangeline, the heroine of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's famous poem about the deportation of the Acadians published in 1847 . In the fall of 1755 more than 2000 Acadians were put on to ships and sent away this went on until 1778. Alot of them died and others ended up in Louisiana !

The Bluenose appears on the Canadian dime , and the Bluenose II is Canada's Sailing Ambassador and was built in 1963.

The mayflower is the little ones you see up there and is the official flower .

The other one is a picture of lady slippers and are hard to find in the woods and I rememeber my grandfather going and getting them and bringing them to my grandfather every year when they were in bloom!

Digby was settled in 1783 and is the scallop capital of the world and has the world's largest inshore scallop fleet on the eastern seaboard. The town I live in now has a really nice restaurant and it gets it's scallops from Digby! Since it's the only place I can get nice big ones anywhere around here and my dh knows the owner he will order an extra bag for us when we want so I have them at the house to make bacon wrapped scallops which are so good! Lobster is also served in most restaurants at home and you can even get Lobster Rolls at Mcdonalds in the summer but only in the Maritimes the rest of Canada doesn't get them ! My grandfather use to have a lobster boat, and I have seen more then you can ever imagine. When I was little I would go out behind the barn, and they would have a big mountian of lobster shells out there as tall as me!

I also included some pictures of lighthouses which are all over the place. The most famous being the Peggy's Cove one.They also have a nice memorial at Peggy's Cove now for Swissair Flight 111

which crashed right off the coast on Sept 2nd 1998. I just happened to be going to my friends house the next morning and you need to drive down that way and the amount of workers,army, trucks and other rescue things was just crazy.

I didn't put a picture of this since I figured I have too many already. I should include it here though, Alexander Keith's is the oldest working brewery in north america and you can go there for tours , I have never gone and I don't like beer but most people from home I know love Keiths!

Alexander Graham Bell first came to NS in 1885 and built his home there the following year ! It is now a museum .

So that is just a little bit about my home province, and while everyone back home is bbq'n and eating scallops and lobster and drinking cold beer, I'm sitting in Kansas listening to my kids fight over who is going to get the computer first when I get off of it!
